Game Discussion. Player vs. Player. Expansion or paid living world content? Y'all.kinda quick for an expansion eh? I got no problem paying for content, even under the guise of an "expansion" but let's get some content for the spvp crowd. Maybe a new map? Exclusive spvp content? But yeah, y'all paying for a living story continuation haha. I've played the game for a while now, and crafting never seemed worthwhile when the trading post exists. For example, let's say I'm a newly-trained chef and I want to make the basic unidentified orange dye. That takes 25 onions and 25 carrots. Right now on the trading post, 25 onions costs 74s 90c, and 25 carrots costs 18s 93c. When the next episode is released (also for free) the previous one can be obtained using the gem store (200 gems = 43 in-game gold = 2.5$). Right now, Guild Wars 2 is doing an event for returning players and others that may want to experience this content. Basically, each week, they release the episode again, for free. Earlier this week ArenaNet announced preorders for Heart of Thorns, the first major expansion for Guild Wars 2. Then all hell broke loose over the upgradeโ€™s $50 base price tag. The A.V. Club Guild Wars 2 is still the best MMORPG of the market, no matter what anyone says. It's the only real step forward in the genre, too. You might talk about player numbers and whatever, but I'm talking about the game quality. Which doesn't mean it couldn't be better, of course. If only they changed their approach with content and rewards
